A week of hard work and success for Brewer teams

print this articleemail this articleskip to comments

This past week Vassar athletes saw a series of wins and close losses. Most notably, the men’s volleyball team finished their regular season with a win and advanced to the NECVA championship.

The men’s lacrosse team recorded two wins and a loss to St. Lawrence College in their opening league game. The women’s lacrosse team faced a similar fate, dropping their first league game to William Smith College in double overtime.

Baseball also lost in a league opener against No. 15-ranked Rensselaer. Both rugby teams saw wins this weekend, as did the men’s tennis team. The women’s team came close to capturing another Seven Sisters Championship title, but fell short with a loss to Wellesley College. Vassar’s new varsity track team performed well at the Trinity College Invitational as well.
