National Public Radio’s Ira Flatow (left) and The New Yorker science writer Michael Specter ’77 (right) were two of four panelists at “Reporting Environmental Health Risks:Perspectives from Scientists and Journalists,” on Tuesday, April 8. After a round of introductions the panelists answered questions posed by Vassar students and faculty.

One of the major topics discussed by the panelists was the warping of scientific findings into issues of a political nature, an example being global warming. Flatow noted that even when scientific facts are presented, some still continue to believe what they will.
