News EditorHaving evaluated the bids of prospective food vendors, the Food Committee will notify the finalists after their meeting this Thursday, according to Vice President for Student Life Morgan Warners ’08.
In early March, the final bidders will give presentations for Food Committee members, rather than the open forum the committee had planned for in the fall. “We had planned before on an open forum, but that actually wouldn't really work with more than one competitor in the same room,” Warners said in an e-mail statement.
He said that the committee was analyzing the bids carefully, looking particularly at issues of student convenience, sustainability and finance.
“This is a contract for food service management, not a contract for food service perfection. That said, [Food Committee Chair Nate Silver] and I are working hard to make sure we come out with a contract that students can get excited about. No matter which vendor we go with, I think there are going to be some new and exciting options,” he said.
