Hunger Action holds book drive

print this articleemail this articleskip to comments

In keeping with the season’s theme of giving, the Hunger Action Committee is collecting used text books for those in need.

Hunger Action is working on behalf of the non-profit Room to Read. The organization “builds elementary schools, libraries, computer and language labs, and funds scholarships for school girls in rural towns throughout Vietnam, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Laos and Nepal,” said Hunger Action First Contact Ilyse Kramer in an e-mailed statement.

There will be collection boxes in the College Center and in each of the dorms from Dec. 8 to Dec. 15.

“Please donate your textbooks,” said Kramer. “Your donation will help countless children gain access to literacy and educational resources.”
