Cars towed for lack of compliance
Security removed four student vehicles from campus parking lots on Nov. 20. The cars had either not been registered, had an excess number of tickets on their record or had been placed on the tow list.

Not-so-musical chairs
Town of Poughkeepsie Police responded to an anonymous call reporting three individuals breaking chairs at the Vassar College Golf Course Pro Shop shortly after 3 a.m. on Nov. 21. When police arrived, the individuals confessed. No criminal charges were filed, but the one student will face disciplinary action by the College. — E.G.
Strange and mildly dangerous
Shortly before 7 a.m. on Nov. 25, Security reported what appeared to be a small fire off the Zacksway Trail of the Vassar Farm. Security discovered a candle burning at the base of a tree, a piece of chocolate cake with two pennies placed on top, and an apple. No suspects have been found. — E.G.
Get out of the street!
Security has received a number of calls from concerned members of the community regarding students entering into local crosswalks without checking for traffic. Security reminds students that jaywalking is a crime, and that students must ensure that traffic has stopped before entering a crosswalk. — E.G.
