print this articleemail this articleskip to comments

Once again, the women’s tennis team has made Vassar athletics history and by winning their sixth consecutive New York State Championship title. After three rounds of play, Vassar captured wins in the first singles, fourth singles, sixth singles and third doubles position for a team total of 50 points, six points higher than second place team Skidmore College.

“I couldn’t be more pleased for this year’s team accomplishment in defending this title,” said Head Coach Kathy Campbell. “From the beginning of the season these players have established their own team identity and high expectations and never rested on past teams’ laurels.”
—Elizabeth Pacheco, Sports Editor
