Someone call the library cop

The theft of a pocketbook from a desk in the Library was reported on Sept. 12 at 6:11 p.m. This is one in a string of larcenies in the Library since the beginning of the semester. Security suspects there might be a single culprit who has been emptying unattended bags.

Suspect arrested after bomb threat

On Friday, Sept. 14, the New York State Police arrested a 15-year old male suspect in connection with bomb threats made against Dutchess County schools last week, and charged him with a second-degree misdemeanor. The threat, which was called in on Sept. 12, simply said, “Three bombs, three schools in Dutchess County.” State and local officials traced the call and located the suspect. Though officials soon declared the threats a hoax, many school districts ordered school buildings be locked down and notified parents of the threat. After a visual sweep of most school buildings, classes resumed.
