The (very) Little Mermaid, which represents Hans Christian Andersen’s famed fairy tale, is one of Copenhagen’s biggest attractions.

Egeskov Castle, Europe’s best preserved Renaissance castle located on the island of Funen in Denmark. It was built in 1554 and is surrounded by acres of beautiful gardens as well as a number of museums

Having a home-cooked family dinner is an integral part of Danish culture. We eat a home-cooked meal together every night and most families will sit at the table for several hours.

On a study tour to Jutland, we stayed in a Folkehøjskole. The folk high school is a unique Danish tradition in which some students choose to participate. There are no exams, and the school aims to holistically educate students between the ages of 18 and 25. We spent an evening there and joined in their songs.
