Bicycle larceny
Four underage individuals attempted to steal bikes near Raymond House on April 24. One bike was retrieved. The Town of Poughkeepsie Police was notified, and the individuals were charged with trespassing. —Shahreen Saifi, Assistant News Editor

Council approves budget for 2008
At Sunday’s Vassar Student Association (VSA) Council Meeting, the Annual Budget for fiscal year 2008 was approved under a new budgeting process. In years past, the budgeting committee was made up of organization treasurers and the VSA Financial Executive. However, few treasurers would attend meetings. This year, the Activities and Finance Committees formed a joint budgeting committee that met with each organization. —Brian Farkas, News Editor
Senior Class Gift receives boost
Council allocated $11,000 from the Great Works fund toward the Senior Class Gift, which will install solar panels on top of the College Center. The panels will be a six-kilowatt photovoltaic system, which converts sunlight direcly into electricity. The total gift costs around $30,000. The money given by VSA will expand the size of the panels. —B.F.
