Guest WriterIf put to the test, how many men would fail to find the clitoris? Some women don’t even know where to find their own. But never fear, Sheri Winston is here.
Certified midwife and licensed massage therapist Sheri Winston will return to campus on April 29 and the following three Thursdays to present her Wholistic Sexuality Workshops. The workshops are sponsored by the Campus Health Organization for Information, Counseling and Education (CHOICE) and will take place in the Josselyn House Parlor from 7-11 p.m.
As opposed to previous visits, Winston will give not one, but four workshops for Vassar students. “The truth is you can take any one of these classes by itself and get a lot out of it. But, part of my curriculum is based on the idea that the more parts of it you do, the more you’ll get out of it,” Winston explained.
CHOICE President Monica Whitcher ’07 said that Winston’s workshops are popular with students, as 75 people attended last year and many requested that the “sexpert” return to campus.
“The most common compliment I get from people is how comfortable and safe it felt to be talking about this, to be hearing about it, to be making sounds that sound like you’re having sex in a room full of other people,” Winston said.

At “Maps of the Clitoris and Exploring Female Pleasure” on March 29, Winston will lecture on female anatomy, its purpose, and how it can cause pleasure.
Winston’s most interactive workshop, “Touch Magic,” will occur on April 5. At this workshop, participants will practice breathing techniques, exercising their pelvic muscles and making sounds with their eyes closed. Other lectures include “Getting Off on Giving Head and Going Down,” also on April 5, “Seven Chakra Orgasm Meditation” on April 12, and the hands-off “The Fountain of the Goddess: The Art of Female Ejaculation”on April 19.
“I hope at a minimum [my workshops] help people have better sex, but what I would like to hope is that it helps people to have better relationships with their own sexuality and then be in better relationships around sexuality with other people,” Winston said.
