Proposal to alter committee representation
The VSA Executive Board introduced an amendment to Council at their Sunday meeting that reorganizes student delegation to VSA and College committees. The amendment proposes to reduce the number of elected student positions from 157 to 120 and suggests more VSA Council members sit on committees that have little to no Council representation. The amendment will be up for vote at the March 4 Council meeting.

Budgeting in process of change
The VSA Council voted that the Finance Committee will have the power to allocate funds up to $750 to student organizations for events planning. The VSA is currently examining the budgeting process for student organizations that takes place at the end of spring semester. The proposal is to delete the two standing budgeting committees and create a joint committee between the Finance and Activities Committee. All organization leaders would have the opportunity to discuss their budget request with the joint committee in person, allowing for more informed decisions. —A.M.
