Security in brief

A student was arrested at South Commons at 2:35 p.m. on Feb. 12 after a state fire inspector found drugs on the premises. Town of Poughkeepsie Police took over the investigation, which, according to Associate Director of Security Kim Squillace, might lead to a court case. —Shahreen Saifi, Assistant News Editor

On Feb. 14 at 4:20 a.m., Security received a complaint that students were smoking marijuana in Raymond House. The students handed over a bag of marijuana residue and rolling papers. –S.S.

A student reported a larceny on Feb. 16 at 3 p.m. when her iMac PowerBook was stolen while left unattended in the Library. Town of Poughkeepsie police were notified. —S.S.

VSA In Brief

On Feb. 18, Council passed Resolution 21(02)-1 recommending that the College designate at least one gender-neutral bathroom in each all-campus building. —Brian Farkas, News Editor

Council passed Amendments to the VSA Constitution, adding a sixth position to the Executive Board, the Vice President (VP) for Student Life. The five current positions were renamed VP for Operations, VP for Activities, VP for Academics, and VP for Finance. Also, the Judicial Board will merge with the student delegation to the College Regulations Panel. —B.F.
