Mug gets down and extra dirty
In addition to the usual commotion at Matthew’s Mug on Saturday, the club also suffered flooding due to a blocked sanitation line on Jan. 21. According to Building and Grounds Technical Services and Operations Manager Pat Gilchrist, this type of blockage is not unusual, though students who continued to use the Mug’s bathrooms made it tougher to fix. The flooding sewage was reported at 1 a.m. and was cleared by 3 a.m. The Mug has since reopened. —Kristine DeMaio, Guest Writer

Unidentified flaming object by Jewett
A Security Officer patrolling outside of Jewett at 1:31 a.m. on Jan. 21 found a small cushion or jacket lit on fire. It appeared to have been done intentionally. —Brian Farkas, News Editor

Hooligans expelled from College Center
On Jan. 21, a complaint was filed about non-College students cursing loudly and playing music and games on the College Center computers. Local police were called and the offenders were given trespassing notices. —B.F.

The shots heard round the campus
Starting with a report in Cushing House on Jan. 25, several campus incidents have involved the use of air rifles, guns that shoot large plastic bullets. On Jan. 27, a Security Officer in Raymond House found broken guns and a makeshift target formed from a bulletin board on two trashcans. On Jan. 29, an Officer heard shots in Jewett House and managed to retrieve guns from two students. New York State Penal Code Section 265.06 prohibits possession of any device that can fire a projectile on a school campus. —B.F.
