Vandalism mars construction project
On Dec. 2, criminal mischief was reported on Raymond Avenue when a Security officer heard the sounds of objects breaking on the west side of the street. Two pedestrian signs—one metal and one wooden—were broken at the intersection of College Avenue and Raymond Avenue. The lights in the Raymond cross walk had also been destroyed. This incident occurred just as the first phase of the Raymond Avenue construction project is coming to a close. Security suspects that the vandalism was the work of Vassar students. If anyone has any information, please contact the Office of Security.

Students make a dubious claim
On Dec. 3 at 12:08 a.m., a Security officer patrolling the fourth floor of Lathrop House noticed the odor of marijuana. The door was closed, and the students initially denied the officer entry into the room. Finally, when they allowed him in, the students denied any wrongdoing, although the room was filled with smoke. —B.F.

Security saw the sign(s)
On Dec. 7 at 2:03 a.m., Security responded to a noise complaint on the third floor of Main Building. In one room, the officer discovered a beer pong table set up along with several empty containers of beer and plastic cups. In an adjacent room, a parking sign, a fire lane sign, and a no-parking/pedestrian-only sign were found. These items had been reported stolen earlier in the year. —B.F
