Students suspected of cable theft
A Security officer patrolling Jewett House on Nov. 8 at 12:46 a.m. found significant evidence of tampering with cable boxes on six floors of the building, as well as in the main parlor. In all cases, the locks on the boxes were broken. Security believes that students were attempting to acquire free cable access in their rooms. —Brian Farkas, Assistant News Editor

College van raided at the Vassar Farm
A group of students went with their professor to the Vassar Farm with a College van at 1:45 p.m. on Nov. 9. The group left the van unlocked, and returned to discover that several of their personal items were missing, including bags, wallets, credit cards, and about $130 in cash. Arlington Police was notified. —B.F.

Trespasser returns to campus
A man with a previous record of trespassing on Vassar campus was discovered in the library at 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 9. Security called local police and the trespasser was arrested. —B.F.

Car drives on manicured grass
The management of the Vassar Golf Course notified Security at 6 p.m. on Nov. 10 that an unauthorized vehicle had driven over the green, destroying the grass. To prevent damage, cars are prohibited from driving over the golf course. Part of the car fell off, and Security is confident that the perpetrator will be identified. —B.F.

Copper sheets stolen from Blodgett
A contractor working on the reconstruction of Blodgett Hall notified Security at 2:43 p.m. on Nov. 13 that 10 sheets of copper were stolen from the construction area. Each sheet is valued at approximately $200. —B.F.
