Arlington Street Fair celebrates Poughkeepsie

On Saturday, Sept. 30, the seventh annual Arlington Street Fair will hit Raymond Avenue, featuring dozens of vendors, rides, a chili cook-off, and fireworks. The Barefoot Monkeys will perform, along with magician Todd Charles at 1 p.m. and the Mockingbird Jazz Band at 3 p.m. Various Vassar a cappella groups will perform at 4 p.m. and hourly concerts will be held in the Big Tent from 12 p.m.-7 p.m. The event will raise money for local charities, and Vassar students will run a separate table for Hurricane Katrina relief fundraising. More than 50 vendors will sell original arts and crafts. Admission is free. Raymond Avenue between Collegeview Avenue and the Eastbound Arterial, 12 p.m.-7 p.m.
