Fran to go out with bingo bang

President Fran Fergusson will call the numbers at a ViCE-sponsored game of bingo on Friday, April 7. If the prizes and heated competition are not enticing enough, the chance to hear Fergusson, after 20 years on campus, call out Bingo Number Slang ought to be. “Goodbye Teens!” (that’s 19); “Dirty Gertie!” (30); “Time for Tea!” (83). You might not have known it, but there is a Caller of the Year Competition in the U.K. in which bingo callers compete for a cash prize and the chance to call the numbers in Las Vegas, as well as to become the bingo “ambassador” for Britain. Fergusson is persistently coy about her post-Vassar plans, but bingo ambassador to Britain? After being President of Vassar? Could be worse. Students’ Building, Second Floor, 7 p.m.
