Chris “Daddy Mack” Smith and Chris “Mack Daddy” Kelly were only 13 when their “Jump” topped the charts in 1992 thanks to gimmicky backwards get-ups and pre-pubescence. They owe it all to producer Jermaine Dupri, who himself was only 19 when he happened upon the boys in an Atlanta shopping mall the previous year.
Silverchair
These Aussie schoolboy brats were just 15 in 1995 when they aped Nirvana and the rest of the blown-up grunge genre with their debut, Frogstomp, which they recorded in a week. It coasted at the top of the Australian charts for six weeks thereafter.
Dizzee Rascal
The grime MC, born Dylan Mills, won England's 2003 Mercury Prize for his debut, Boy in da Corner, when he was 18. When he wasn't fighting teachers, robbing pizza delivery boys, or stealing cars, Mills spent high school making beats on a classroom computer with his music teacher.
