Noyes House vandalized during Spring Break

At 10:45 p.m. on March 22, Security received reports of vandalism in Noyes House. On the second, third, and fourth floor bathrooms, people had smeared shaving cream on the floors and toothpaste on the toilet seats, and left shampoo bottles in the toilets. The culprits have not yet been identified, and Security is continuing their investigation. —Lauren Sutherland, Assistant News Editor

All College Day Mural removed from College Center

The All College Day Mural, a white canvas emblazoned with statements made by students during the annual event, is no longer displayed in the College Center. The mural was scheduled to stay up until April 16.

Associate Dean of the College Ed Pittman said the mural was taken down over Spring Break because it featured personal and controversial content that was “not the type of dialogue desired or encouraged on campus.”

According to Pittman, while the mural “reflects many topics that the campus engage in dialogues about, Campus Life was concerned about the climate that the mural might directly or indirectly engender around campus.”

Campus Life has preserved the canvas, and has stored it with All-College Day murals from previous years. —L.S.
