I had only been living in Amsterdam for one week as part of my study abroad program, when I received an e-mail from the American Consulate General in Amsterdam informing me that “a demonstration against the cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohamed will be held near Dam Square in Amsterdam” on Feb. 8.

Swastika discovered in Raymond, Residential Life responds

A swastika was found on a first floor Raymond House wall last week. It was scrawled in pen and was discovered by a student Thursday, Feb. 9 around 3 p.m. This is the second instance of a swastika found on a dorm wall this year.

Marked progress for “Big Pink” athletics

The Athletics Department is under perpetual renovation—both physically and psychologically. One of the most defining renovations in the history of Vassar sports was the adoption of male athletes into its program, which came with Vassar’s turn to coeducation in 1969.
