Security patrolling in Lathrop on Oct. 28 at 2:27 a.m. found a large blow-up pumpkin in the center of a hallway. Students in the area did not know who it belonged to. Security deflated the pumpkin and took it to security headquarters, as it violated fire safety regulations. A student reported a larceny on Oct. 30 at 1:20 a.m. The larceny took place in the College Center. The student had left a purse containing several personal items on a table in the Retreat. Security later found the purse discarded in the Retreat. Some items remained inside of it, but many were missing. —A.S.
A student on the fourth floor of Noyes reported on Oct. 31 at 10:50 p.m. that $130 was stolen from her wallet. Her room was unlocked at the time of the theft and she was not in her room. Security reminds students to lock their doors in order to protect their valuables. —A.S.
The Town of Poughkeepsie Police began enforcing overnight street parking rules on Nov. 1, according to an all-campus e-mail sent by Director of Security Don Marsala. Vehicles cannot be on Raymond Ave or surrounding streets between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Both South Lot and New Hackensack Lot are available for overnight student parking. Marsala noted that the Golf Course Lot will be opened later for overflow vehicles. He said that another notice would be sent out when it opened.—Anita Varma, Senior Editor
