Town students, police, security hold meeting
Town students, Poughkeepsie police, College security, and area residents met on Wednesday, Sept. 21 to discuss conduct and noise complaints. This was the second meeting of this kind in two years. Organized by Poughkeepsie Crime Prevention Officer Eric Hawlk, the meeting consisted of seven panel members, ten community members, and two students. LaGrange housemates Pat Shields ’07 and Paul Mersfelder ’07 were the only students who came to the meeting. All students who live on LaGrange and Davis Avenues were invited. One of the panel members was state assemblyman Joel Miller. Director of Residential Life Luis Inoa and Dean of Students D.B. Brown attended the meeting as well.September 23, 2005

Controversy over the article titled “Race and Freedom” in the Moderate, Independent and Conservative Alliance’s most recent issue of The Imperialist continued this weekend at a Vassar Students Association Council meeting that lasted more than two hours. Approximately 105 people, in addition to the entire Council came to discuss concerns over the language and images used in The Imperialist.
