Survey: Student Habits and Perceptions

The Miscellany News recently conducted a survey of Vassar students in order to gauge their opinion on Nutrition and Fitness at the College. Out of 501 students solicited at random, approximately 150 individuals responded. The survey was conducted by surveymonkey.com and all the responses were anonymous.

How often do you go to the gym?
12.5% - 5 or more times a week
36.8% - 2-4 times a week
9.9% - Once a week
17.8% - Rarely
23.7& - Never

Do you participate in athletics on campus (teams or intramurals)?
43.9% - Yes
56.1% - No

Have you evern contacted the Vassar nutritionist or worked with a counselor on nutrition?
8% - Yes, Vassar Nutritionist
9.3% - Yes, off-campus Nutritionist
83.3% - No

Are you happy with your current weight?
60.7% -Yes
40.3% - No

Are you currently trying to lose weight?
37.1% - Yes
63.6% - No

Are you currently trying to change your eating habits?
60.9% - Yes
39.1% - No
