Lakefest 2004

print this articleemail this articleskip to comments

The weather was perfect—a cloudless sky let through the warming sun and and the temperature stayed well above sixty. Students gathered together on Sunset Hill to chill out and relax during their Sunday afternoon, soaking up the rays and the music as they relaxed before the start of a full week’s worth of classes and work.

Sponsored by the Vassar Outing Club and Vassar Greens, Vassar College's annual Lakefest was held on Sunday Oct. 3 on Sunset Hill, including a series of exciting performers and events. Chris Khiene and Chris Sparks, Chris Maher, Dragzilla, the Alarm Cocks, Glitterpals, Starshark, The Ramblers, Fiasco, Taylor Brown and the Sour Grapes, The Vastards, and Paul Plays It All each delivered enthusiastic musical performances throughout the day.

For those who weren't sated by the abundance of complimentary food, the day also yielded a thrilling pie-eating contest. Other events included an exciting bike race around Sunset Lake and a long awaited stick fight rematch between the Non-Student Organization and the Vassar Outing Club. With a clash of such epic proportions, inevitably someone is going to end up in the lake as the NSO dominated the competition.
